Poker Odds Chart

To succeed at holdem poker, you must have a good working knowledge of odds and probability. Whether you were to do the calculations in your head on the spot, or would take some time to learn by rote the odds of making certain draws, you must not disregard this aspect of the game. The chart will contain the odds for completing various draws in holdem poker.

Notes on the Odds Chart:

  • # of Outs – Total number of cards in the deck that would improve your hand enough to (probably) win.
  • Sample Situation – The most frequent drawing situations for a given number of outs. This would not be a complete list; there would be other promising draws.
  • After the Flop (2 cards to come) – the chance of hitting one of your out cards either on the turn or the river, with only three cards on the board.
  • After the Turn (1 cards to come) – The chances of hitting one of your out cards on the river, with four cards already on the board.
  • ‘Straight draw’ would means either an open-ended or double-gut-shot straight draw. (Both situations would complete a straight with two different cards.)
  • ‘Flush draw’ would mean that you already have four cards of the same suit, and would need only one more. Completing a runner-runner flush draw (you were to have three flush cards and would need two more) would be much less likely.
  • ‘live overcards’ would mean that you would have one or two cards higher than anything on the board and you were to think making one of those higher pairs would be enough to win.
